Eric Hendrikx Interviews Brian Anderson for Rolling Stone
Friday, October 7th, 2016
When Brian Anderson made the courageous decision to come out as the first openly gay professional skateboarder, I was stoked to be able to bring his story to the attention of my editor at Rolling Stone and share his interview. Brian and his now-husband Andrew are the coolest dudes and I’m grateful to have gotten to know them both a bit more during this process.

Eric Hendrikx Interviews The Shrine for Rolling Stone
Monday, October 3rd, 2016
Man, I meet the coolest and most inspiring people along my journey, and I’m so grateful for that. Meeting up with The Shrine in Venice and becoming friends with Josh and the guys makes all the late nights of tapping at a keyboard and gazing into a monitor well worth the effort. I love how The Shrine came up in the skate & surf world and then took advantage of the marketing and branding they learned from skateboarding to accelerate their careers in music– this is something that goes back to Nobel Prize recipient in Physics, Richard Feynmann. He believed in learning just enough about a thing to be familiar but not fall into the same path as everyone else trying to accomplish the same goal. He would then retreat on his own to work on solutions, which paved way to an array of innovations. Anyway, The Shrine rules and I’m happy to help share their story.
